The Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of Organic or Medicinal Chemistry. The successful candidate will have access to the core facilities in NMR, mass spectrometry and x-ray crystallography in the department, materials characterization and biocatalysis facilities that are part of the Centre for Catalysis Research and Innovation and core facilities in Biology and Medicine. The Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Ottawa is currently ranked #2 in Canada and is one of the top 100 Departments worldwide (according to ARWU) and hosts two winners of the Herzberg Canada Gold Medal, seven Canada Research Chairs and five University Research Chairs.
Duties: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities revealed by research; c) academic service activities, d) supervision of graduate students.
Terms: Tenure-track position
Wage: Assistant professor salary scale commensurate at $77,379.00

Skills requirements:
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in Organic Chemistry. Postdoctoral experience in Medicinal Chemistry is desirable.
Work experience: A demonstrated excellent research track record in organic chemistry. A commitment to teaching and graduate training, a strong track record in and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, excellent communication skills in English and French. The candidate will be expected to teach in French.
